Senior GWAS Intercounties 2024

The above event is being held at Cleve Archers on their grounds at Down Yonder, Hambrook, Bristol BS16 6JA. The event will be held on the 22nd September 2024. The round will be a WA Double 720 (70m/50m) for Recurve, Compound, Longbow and Barebow

In order to qualify for selection, you must shoot four 12 dozen rounds at a minimum distance appropriate to your gender and bow style (Limited to World Archery Double 720’s & up to two Womens/Mens 1440). These rounds must be shot during the current season. One of these rounds must be shot between the last weekend in July and the cut-off date

Submitted Scores need to match any published results on 3rd party results systems E.g. ianseo, rcherz, Tamlyn scoring, Between Ends etc. Where the submitted scores do not match the published scores on 3rd party results systems, confirmation from the tournament organiser is required confirming the exact score you have submitted. This confirmation must be provided by the archer along with the submitted score.

If you are interested in being selected I would ask you make an expression of interest to the county team manager. All expressions of interest should be sent to teammanager@dcas.org.uk stating your gender and bow style. All expression should be made as soon as possible.

The Team will then be picked based upon the handicaps obtained for those rounds. The County Records Officer and Senior County Team Manager will be responsible for this process. In case of a tie (defined as less than 1 handicap point difference), this will be decided by dropping the handicap of the oldest rounds. Should a conflict occur, the County Vice Chairman will have the final decision.

It will be a condition of accepting to shoot for the County that you agree to wear the official County Colours throughout the day. This includes the current DCAS shooting top. Lower garments are to be self-funded and must confirm to the current GWAS requirements. Black preferred, but green or white will be accepted.

DCAS will meet the following costs for this event:
Bacon sandwich, Drinks during the day, 1 piece of cake, buffet tea after shooting, if available. (This will be dependent on the catering arrangements on the day and you may need to prepare for bringing your own refreshments).
Shooting shirt for any new members of the team.

By sending in your scores to the team manager you are confirming that you are a member of an Archery Club that is affiliated to DCAS or are affiliated to DCAS as an individual.
